Ark of Safety Ministries
There is safety in the ARK
More information:
In 1987 while recovering from the demise of her loving husband of 26 years, the need became apparent to the founder, Dr. Loretta Joseph, that an entity must exist for those
who have difficulties coping with emotional anxiety suffered after a loss. In addition to her husband’s demise, Dr. Joseph had to also endure the loss of a brother, her mother, a sister and a grandchild.
Dr. Joseph realized her vision by forming Ark of Safety Ministries to REACH OUT to malaised individuals who were suffering from emotional depression and grief due to a
personal calamity. As the organization progressed, dispensing its invaluable services, the founder suffered a heart attack. In addition to assisting individuals with her
services, Dr. Joseph was also carrying a full time job. As a result of the longevity of recovery from the heart attack, Dr. Joseph was released from her full time job by her employer.
Since Dr. Joseph officially formed ASM , Christian-based organization it has come into contact with many individuals who have been helped to OVERCOME emotional
trauma. Although we extend comfort to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, ASM is not a condolence ministry. Because the Founders’ have had personal
experience coping in many areas of loss, AMS has expanded its services to support those who have suffered loss of employment, marriage, health, economic and social
status. Although the loss of a job or marriage is temporary, it is just as devastating as losing a loved one. We realize from experience that success in life requires making the right choices
especially when shrouded with the delemma of coping with difficult and confusing decisions. For appropriate stewardship in the transition of loss, we extend ourselves by
sharing words of encouragement through prayer and scripture reading, motivation through conversing and directing individuals to reliable resources to OVERCOME their burden with positive results.
In order to provide this sociological support ministry we need to rely upon our ability to quickly identify the stages of grief and provide sound REMEDIES that will bring
desired results. Our most valuable resource is primarily our spiritual belief in emotional healing, our extensive theological knowledge and psychological training, as
well as our network of Christian based counseling referrals
